Max Everingham, Owner

Max Everingham is a videogames veteran, having worked in the industry for over 13 years, including brand & product marketing positions at EA and Codemasters. Starting as a correspondent in Japan when his games reviews website – a rarity at that time – was noticed, he moved into full-time editorial positions with gaming magazines, beginning a writing career that encompassed the US, UK and Australia before moving to the developer/ publisher side of the industry. Since responsible for the global marketing of over 20 shipped titles, including many multi-million unit selling games, Max has unrivaled product knowledge, a reputation for delivering innovative and efficient marketing campaigns that deliver to the bottom line, strong strategic insight and an infectious passion for his work.

Evan Shamoon

Evan Shamoon has been working in videogames for more than a decade. After his days at the Official Dreamcast magazine, he became editor-in-chief of Xbox Nation (XBN) magazine for Ziff Davis Media. He eventually went freelance with his writing several years later, and has written about games for such magazines and websites as Wired, Electronic Gaming Monthly, Details, AOL, and G4TV, among many others. Now Evan splits his time between editorial and freelance game consultation; for the latter, he does regular advisory work for the likes of EA, Ubisoft, Atari, and Warner Brothers, on titles ranging from AAA blockbusters to casual downloadable games on nearly every platform. He resides in Los Angeles, CA.

Overview of direct competitive set

Positioning analysis and/or recommendations

Determination of key messaging: media & consumer facing

Strategic marketing recommendations (inc PR)

Validation

You have your own product marketeers, we understand that. But in such a competitive market, differentiation is crucial to success and living so close to a project can make it difficult to determine.

External validation via objective analysis can help identify your game’s strongest facets and reduce your risk.

So even if you have all the positioning and messaging worked out, Game State can offer an unbiased viewpoint to validate your plans.
